He asked, she said, "about damn time"

From picking the perfect ring, to finding the perfect moment...an #engagement is such a special time! I love a good engagement story, and Kathryn + Mike have just that! It was on their family vacation to Disney with all of Kathryn's family that Mike popped the question! I know what you're thinking, "he popped the question at Disney, obviously". PSYC. Nope, Mike decided to wait for the perfect moment. Just the two of them, taking a long walk, comfortable and in their element. No pressure to impress in front of a crowd, just the two of them in an intimate setting. A moment only the two of them will share for a lifetime! How sweet is that!?

You know the saying, "patience is a virtue"? Well, Kathryn is one of the most kind hearted patient people I know. You are one lucky guy, Mike! She has waited patiently for this time to come. What I love most about these two is that they compliment each other so well. Kathryn is incredibly patient and sweet, Mike is outgoing and funny. Not saying Kathryn isn't fun as well, but she has such a soft spoken kind spirit. And then there's Mike who is a fun loving, sports loving, all American guy. Lets not forget, he is a HUGE cubs fan. If you couldn't tell by those sweet socks in the photos.

Forget the socks for a second, how about the cute puppy?! Is this not the cutest family photo you've ever seen? Even Griffey was just picture perfect for his first family photos. Everyone was all smiles during their engagement shoot, the sun was shining, and it was not freezing cold for once. Chicago end of February is unpredicatable, it could be snowing one day and 50 degrees the next. Originally, when Kathryn reached out to me we had planned a snow engagement session. We kept having to reschedule and were just missing each snow fall. Of course, days after there session it snowed!

We made the best of the day we had and the weather conditions. I came prepared for all types of weather conditions this time though. I brought my snow boots, rain boots, bubble umbrella and blanket for snow pictures. Luckily, we didn't need any of those things on this day. We had a bright sunny 40 degree day on the farm. It wouldn't have mattered for these two. They are the type of couple that just "goes with the flow". I think we could all take a page from their book. I can't wait to see what the future holds for them. They are such a sweet couple and have so much to look forward to.

They recently purchased a new home and have a new puppy! I will say, nothing prepares you better for children than fur babies. They sure remind you what is like to have someone that depends on you to feed them, let them out, bath them, take them to the doctor, and everything in between. These two certainly have a lot going on to keep them busy! Luckily they come from big families and have a lot of help planning their fall wedding! Looking back to my wedding day, it was a blessing to have help from family and friends to make the day go off without a hitch! I am sure Mike & Kathryn's big day will be no different. "Pick a seat not a side, we are all family once the knot is tied!"
